It’s almost 800+ days since the release of the 14th Call of Duty game – Call of Duty WWII. What’s going with this game? Is it still popular as it was at the time of release in 2017?
Besides, what about the next game in the World War II gaming category? Is there any possibility of its release in 2020? Well, let’s find out all you answer in this post –
Call of Duty Gameplay Modes
It is an overall 14th main installment in the Call of Duty franchise, which is set largely during World War II. As an upgrade over Call of Duty World at War in 2008, the game introduced several new additions. Let’s find out about them one-by-one –
Campaign
For the 1st time ever since the original call of duty 2, the campaign mode does not feature health regeneration.
So, how would your player heal back from injuries? Well, instead of health regeneration, you must allocate health packs spread throughout different levels in the game or else you, you’ve to rely on your medic teammate for health packs.
Additionally, you can take ammo, grenades, and call in mortar strikes from your squad to take down your enemies. In the form of Silhouettes, Spot enemies and reveal their position.
Capture enemy soldiers in the combat, save wounded allies by helping them with cover, control available vehicles. Do whatever it takes from your side to defeat your enemies on the battlefield.
Multiplayer
Although, Activision released Call of Duty WWII in November 2017 Sledgehammer games (developer) announced the mode way back in June 2017 at E3 2017 event. Later, everyone (included me) who preordered the game, got an invitation to closed beta testing.
Now, let’s get straight to the main topic – What’s in the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty WWII?
You’ll be randomly assigned as either Allies or Axis. If you’re on the allies’ side then you’ll get to play as a soldier in American, British, French Resistance, and Soviet army.
What about the axis?
Well, as an axis, you’ll play exclusively as Wehrmacht. To avoid glorifying Nazi extremists, decide to not include Waffen-SS (A military branch of Nazi Party’s SS organization).
Instead of a well-known class system, WWII features something new called Divisions. Out of the 8 available divisions, you get to choose only one at a time. Let’s get to about each division one-by-one:
- Airborne
- Mountain
- Infantry
- Armored
- Resistance
- Cavalry
- Commando
- Expeditionary
Nazi Zombies
Now, last but not least is Nazi Zombies Mode.
Although a bit similar to the previous games by Treyarch and Infinity Ward, Nazi Zombies mode follows its own storyline from an alternative history. That’s the only thing that separates WWII from the campaigns.
Nazi Zombies mode gameplay is similar to any other zombie game. All you’ve to do is follow the wave-based survival formula.
